Starlight Casino in New Westminster Opens New Poker Room
Local leaders and changemakers to compete in charity poker tournament on October 12
October 4, 2023 – This week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (“Gateway”) opened a brand new poker room at the Starlight Casino New Westminster (“Starlight”). Since first opening its doors in 2007, the casino has undergone many exciting additions and developments. In 2014, it opened Match Eatery & Public House – a neighbourhood pub that combines creative comfort food, cold libations and a lively atmosphere.
The new four-table poker room is located right off the main casino floor in a comfortable and meticulously maintained open space. Inside, it features “No Limit” and “Limit” stakes at varying levels, seven flat screen televisions and its own exclusive menu with a daily breakfast special. The poker room is open Sunday through Thursday, 11am – 3am, and Fridays and Saturdays, 24 hours.

We are also the only casino in the province that now offers $2-3 No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, as well as single blind $5 Limit Omaha. For the first time ever, poker enthusiasts in British Columbia have access to these games.”
To celebrate this exciting expansion, a charity poker tournament will be held on October 12. Local leaders and changemakers will sit down to play in support of their charity of choice. Patrick Johnstone, Mayor of New Westminster, Matt Jarvis, former professional poker player and Steve Deakin, Canada’s number one ranked pickleball player will join other athletes, entertainers and government officials for a game of skill, strategy and luck.
